Lesson Materials

  • Notebook to take notes on assignments for home practice

  • Music Bag to carry materials to and from lesson

  • Pencil

  • Suzuki Violin Volume 1 Revised Edition Book and Recording- this recording can also be purchased here. Hillary Hahn and Augustin Hadelich are the most recent recording artists (and, therefore, the current standard).

  • Appropriate Violin- Some young students may begin on a "box violin." I will help you to determine the correct violin size/box for your student.

  • Music stand- You will need a music stand as students learn to read music. This is not a necessity for a beginning student right away.

  • Any other music materials you may use. If you have none, don't worry! If you have other music, please bring it to your lesson in your music bag.
